iPad Purchase Program

This page contains information for families needing an iPad for their child entering the 1-to-1 Program.

If you already have an iPad, please view the information on this page, Family Owned iPads, to see if your current device qualifies for use at school.

The following dates are for students entering Grade 3 and new students joining Grades 4 & 5 in August 2025 at the start of the school year. Students already in the 1-to-1 Program or joining the school after August can place an iPad order anytime.

Important Dates 

  • 2025-26 iPad and Laptop Parent Information Session (YouTube Live Stream)
    • Date: 25th April 2025, 10:00 am (online)
    • Join us as we share information on the new iPad models for the 2025-26 school year.
    • The presentation will be a recorded live stream.
    • You can watch the presentation during the live stream or afterward using the link above.
    • Before the live stream, Grade 2 and 5 parents will receive an email with the link.
  • Start Placing Orders – 25th April 2025
  • Deadline for “Start of Year” Orders – 31st May 2025
  • iPad and Laptop Distribution – Tuesday, 12th August 2025
    • “Start of Year” orders are distributed to students and families from CKS in the Secondary School.
    • Instructions for collecting orders will be emailed to families in early August.

Special Considerations

iPads Not Purchased Through School Program

If you decide to use a family iPad or purchase an iPad outside of the school purchase program, please read the important information shared in the FAQ section at the bottom of this webpage. There, we provide details about the minimum specifications and accessories you need to purchase and the process to follow for dropping your device off to be configured.

  • Tuesday 12th August and First Week of School
    • If you already have an iPad or have purchased an iPad outside of the school purchase program, you need to bring your iPad to school for it to be configured.
    • You will need to leave the iPad for 1-day and provide a copy showing the purchase of Filewave from Senco-Masslink.
    • You must provide an administrator user account and password to complete the configuration.

Purchase Information for Students Joining Mid-Year

If your child is joining the ISF after the school year has begun, you have two options for purchasing your iPad.

  • Option 1 – Senco Masslink Technology Ltd.
    • If your child starts school more than four weeks from the day you are reading this, we recommend purchasing your child’s iPad and accessories from Senco-Masslink Ltd. The iPad and accessories will be delivered directly to the school and will be pre-configured with the school’s settings. Orders take approximately 3-to-4 weeks to be delivered.
  • Option 2 – Apple Hong Kong
    • If your child starts school in less than four weeks from the day you are reading this, we recommend purchasing your child’s iPad directly from the closest Apple Store. This is the fastest way to obtain an iPad. You will also need to arrange for the purchase of additional required accessories (see below for the list of required accessories) either from Senco-Masslink or from a store. The iPad must be configured to work at the school before it can enter the classroom. Please carefully read the information contained in iPad Drop-Off Details for instructions on how to bring your iPad to school.

iPad Air 11

The iPad Package includes:

  • 1 iPad
    • 11″ iPad Air – Space Gray.
    • Processor: M3 Chip w 8-core CPU / 9-core GPU / 16-core Neural Engine.
    • Storage: 256 GB.
    • Connector: USB-C port for charging.
  • 1 Filewave license: one 36-month iOS license. This is required for all iPads. See below for additional details.
  • 3-Year AppleCare+ Warranty.
  • 3-Years On-Site (campus) Pickup and Return Service by Senco-Masslink Ltd.
  • 1 Protective Case.
  • 1 Pair of Over-the-Ears headphones with a microphone.
  • Price: $6,356.00.

Purchasing an iPad

If you already have an iPad and wish to use this for your child, please review the information shared on the Family Owned iPads page.

There are two methods for purchasing an iPad for your child:

  1. From Senco-Masslink Technology Ltd’s online store.
    • Devices purchased through Senco-Masslink’s online store include the 3-year AppleCare+ and Senco-Masslink’s on-campus pickup and return. They are eligible for on-site technical support and repairs, includes the Filewave license, headphones, protective case, and are delivered to the school pre-configured for use on campus.
  2. From an Apple store.
    • Devices purchased from an Apple store include the 3-year AppleCare+ warranty. They are NOT pre-configured for use on the school campus and must be dropped off at the IT Help Desk for configuration and registration. Under certain conditions, on-site technical support may be limited. You will need to purchase FileWave, headphones, and a protective case.

We recommend purchasing your child’s iPad through Senco-Masslink. We have partnered with Senco-Masslink Technology Ltd. to manage school orders and are confident in their ability to deliver the level of support we expect.

Families Who Have Used Senco-Masslink Before

If you have purchased a device through Senco-Masslink before, please use the same ISF parent email to make your new purchase. Using your ISF parent email address verifies you are a member of our school community and qualify for the education discount. 

First Time Purchasing a Device – Existing ISF Families

If you are already a member of the ISF community and this is your first time purchasing a device for your child, you need to create a new user account on the Senco-Masslink website. Please use your ISF parent email address to create your account instead of a personal one. Using your ISF parent email address verifies you are a member of our school community and qualify for the education discount.

First Time Purchasing a Device – New ISF Families

If you are a new member of the ISF community, welcome to ISF! As a new member of the community you will be issued an ISF parent email address.

    • If you have been given your ISF parent email address, please use this to create your user account on the Senco-Masslink website.
    • If you have not yet been issued your ISF parent email address, you need a copy of your letter of admission or acceptance letter. During the registration process you will be asked to upload a supporting copy of the document. Please use PDF or JPG format and a file size of less than 2MB. In this special situation you can create your store user account using a personal (non-ISF) email address for your user account.

Either of these methods verifies you are a member of our school community and qualify for the education discount.

We Already Have an iPad, Can We Use This?

Families who already have an iPad that is less than 1.5 years old at the start of the school year can consider using it with their child. The iPad must have a minimum of 256GB storage.

Filewave – What is it? Do I Need It?

Filewave is software that allows us to manage iPads on the school network. With Filewave installed on your child’s iPad, the IT Department can configure, manage, push updates the operating system, install applications, and support the device.

All iPads used in the 1-to-1 iPad Program, either purchased through Senco-Masslink or Apple directly, must have one Filewave license. Filewave licenses cannot be transferred from one iPad to another. 

If you need a license, you can purchase it through the Senco-Masslink online portal.

What Does Warranty Cover?

Accidents happen. The 3-year AppleCare+ warranty covers hardware failure and accidental damage protection. (Please see Apple for details on the warranty.) Each incident is subject to a handling service fee.  

Your child’s iPad can be dropped off at the school’s IT Help Desk in Charles Kao Square (CKS) for on-campus support or be taken to any Apple store’s service center. 

Do I need to buy an Apple Pencil?

Families are NOT required to purchase an Apple Pencil for their child.

Families can purchase an Apple Pencil for home use if they wish. They are available through the Senco-Masslink online store. If you purchase an Apple Pencil or additional accessories not included in the school list, please DO NOT send them to school with your child. The school is not responsible for any Apple Pencils or accessories sent to the school.
