Family Owned iPads

This page contains essential information for families considering using an iPad they already have for the 1-to-1 iPad program (Grades 3–5). To ensure the device supports the curriculum, it must meet specific technical standards.

1. Is your iPad eligible?

Requirement: Your iPad must have been purchased after January 2025 to ensure the battery and processor can sustain the full 3-year learning cycle.
  • Supported Models: 10.9″ to 11″ iPad or iPad Air[cite: 1069].

    *iPad Mini is NOT supported . iPad Pro 12″–13″ requires prior approval.
  • OS Support: Must be compatible with iPadOS 18 or newer.
  • Management: Must be signed out of personal Apple ID and NOT enrolled in any other management system (DEP/MDM)[cite: 1085].

3. Mandatory Requirements

The following items must be provided with the device for it to be configured for campus use:

FileWave License

A 36-month management license is mandatory for all iPads to install classroom apps[cite: 1034, 1114].

Non-Bluetooth over-the-ear headphones with a microphone (e.g., Logitech H390)[cite: 1053, 1115].

Protective Case

A rugged case is required for daily transport between classes[cite: 1116].

⚠️ Data Loss Warning

The iPad will be factory reset as part of the configuration. All data will be erased and cannot be retrieved. You MUST back up the device before drop-off[cite: 1101, 1103].
